Illegal firearms found, suspect arrested

GAUTENG – Information was received from Johannesburg Central CI on a suspect in the Florida area identified as a Zama Zama who could be in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

The operational team was placed in strategic positions to observe the house before the team tactically penetrated the house.Upon entry to the house one male was found and searched by the team. On his possession one illegal firearm was found and one knife.

Upon further searching of the house one illegal firearm was found in the cupboard. The suspect identified as a Basotho national and confirmed both firearms was his and he works as an illegal miner at the Jerusalem area. Suspect was detained and firearms and ammunition booked in at Florida SAPS.
