Drug traffickers busted at an estate in Polokwane
POLOKWANE – Members of the Provincial Crime Intelligence Narcotics Team in Limpopo arrested a couple in Polokwane for allegedly dealing in drugs on Wednesday morning, 11 October 2023 at about 05:30. Members received information about suspects who were transporting drugs from Gauteng to Polokwane. An intelligence driven operation was conducted and the said vehicle was followed until it reached an Estate in Ivydale on the outskirts of Polokwane. A search was conducted inside the vehicle and members found Crystal meth to a street value of approximately R80 000.00.The drugs as well as the vehicle were confiscated. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended this team of members for their prompt response which led to the apprehension of the suspects and ridding the Province of criminal activity and drug related crimes. The duo, a 38-year-old foreign National male and his South African partner aged 22 were subsequently arrested and charged for dealing in drugs. They are expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Friday 13 October 2023.
