‘Vumacam’ helps to nab car thieves

ALBERTON – A syndicate that was targeting the Alberton area was arrested after CPS Security officers received an LPR (License plate recognition) alert from one of their Vumacam poles. The syndicate was stealing vehicles such as Nissan Np200s etc. Tactical teams acted on the alert and tracked the vehicle down which resulted in a positive arrest. False number plates, car breaking implements and the suspects car was seized. Thank you to everyone who assisted on the scene.
