‘Taxi wars’ as armed suspects torch second taxi
NTOMBE – A white Toyota Quantum was torched by armed suspects yesterday after the driver fleed on foot. This is the second arson attack on mini bus taxis that Reaction officers attended to since Thursday last week. Members of Reaction Unit South Africa arrived on scene at and discovered the mini bus taxi engulfed in flames. It was established that the driver was seated in the vehicle when an unknown number of armed men approached him. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The taxi rolled and collided onto a general dealer situated in a shipping container. The suspects doused the vehicle with fuel and set it alight.
