Delivery driver killed on first day at work

WOODVIEW – A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed while attempting to make a u-turn on Old North Coast Road near Woodview Park yesterday afternoon. A passerby contacted Reaction Unit South Africa requesting assistance for the critically injured male. Reaction units were immediately dispatched and on arrival discovered the fatally injured biker lying several metres away from his Big Boy 125cc motorcycle. His work colleagues arrived on scene and informed Reaction Officers that the deceased was conducting grocery deliveries for a supermarket. Today was his first day at work. According to the driver of a black Mini Cooper, he was travelling behind the motorcycle from Phoenix towards Ottawa, when the rider suddenly made a u-turn. The vehicle was unable to stop timeously and struck the motorcycle. The driver of the car was not injured.
