BREAKING NEWS: Complete lack of service delivery drives protests
BETHANIE – Community members of Modikwe, Barseba, Makolokwe and Bethanie have raised their concerns in the form of protest this morning to demand attention to the horrid road conditions of the D109 road that many motorists struggle on daily. Massive potholes pose a danger to community members using the road with a complete lack of service delivery from the Madibeng Local Municipality. The protest – which could have all been avoided if state entities delivered on their promises during elections – is causing delays in deliveries and with the influx of visitors driving through Brits in the direction of Thabazimbi for the weekend, will also face long ques if the roads are not cleared up by this afternoon. The following roads reported have been closed: On the Bethanie R511 / T-junction, on the Sun City road, Bethanie road, T-junction after Geluk and the Losperfontein gravelroad to Wolwekraal on the way to Green Stores. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid any of the protest action.
