Four (4) CIT robbers gunned down, three (3) arrested

HOEDSPRUIT – The Hawks have captured three (3) suspects age between 28 – 52, who attacked and robbed a G4S guarded vehicle in Hoedspruit. It is alleged that at around 16h00 yesterday afternoon, the G4S protected vehicle along with its escort vehicle were driving from Hoedspruit towards Tzaneen when they were attacked by the CIT robbers who were driving in three seperate vehicles – (white Toyota Fortuner, white Passage Concentration and white Toyota Hilux). The CIT robbers began firing shots at the escort vehicle until it halted and they incapacitated the watchmen (driver and team) of their authority rifles and guns. Sadly, the two security guards were shot at and wounded during the robbery. Unfortunately the driver of G4S van died on scene due to his injuries. The three (3) armed suspects are under police guard in hospital and they will make their first court appearance soon. The Hawks are as yet looking for the remaining suspects.
