Missing man (24) found electrocuted

CANELANDS – A man who went missing after consuming alcohol with friends on Saturday was discovered deceased by emergency officials today. His relatives arrived at RUSA Headquarters requesting assistance to find said missing man. His family explained that the 24-year-old was consuming alcohol with friends on Station Road in Canelands on Saturday afternoon. Witnesses reported seeing him entering a pathway strewn with illegal electricity connections. Reaction Officers proceeded to Station Road and interviewed a witness. The man confirmed that the missing individual was heavy intoxicated when he entered the pathway. He cautioned officers that live electrical cables ran along the foot path. Officers entered the bush with the family and cautiously navigated through the dense vegetation. The Mountview resident was discovered deceased approximately 150 metres from the road. He was lying on a live illegal exposed electricity connection. The reason for the deceased entering the bush could not be established.
