Taxi strike turning to violence and looting

CAPE TOWN – At least one person has been shot dead and three buses have been torched in Cape Town amid the ongoing taxi strike. According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Novela Potelwa a motorist fired several shots after being pelted with stones on the Airport Approach Road.
A suspected assailant died, and three others were injured. Meanwhile, Golden Arrow spokesperson, Bronwen Dyke-Beyer says two buses were lost on the N2 near Borcherds Quarry where the taxi blockade was happening. A third one was set alight at Govan Mbeki and Symphony Way Avenue.
