Semi-precious minerals seized by SAPS

GAUTENG – Police in Ekurhuleni District in collaboration with private security services recovered Zircon found in shipping containers to the estimated value of R300 000 in Alberton. According to a preliminary report a team comprising of members from Ekurhuleni Serious and Violent Crimes, local police stations and security officials operationalised information they obtained on a cargo containing over 100 bags of Zircon (a semi-precious mineral) which was making its way to Gauteng from Richards Bay.
