Hijacked bakkie recovered in sugar plantation

COTTONLANDS – A white Isuzu bakkie that was hijacked from a business park abeam King Shaka International Airport was recovered in a sugar cane plantation. A member of RUSA was on patrol in the area when he was flagged down by two males who stated that they were hijacked by two suspects. One person produced a firearm while his accomplice was armed with a panga. They forced the victims to hand over their valuables before they sped off with their bakkie. Reaction Officers contacted Tracker at 14:49 and activated the vehicle’s tracking unit which was emitting signals in the Cottonlands area. Officers converged on the area and recovered the bakkie abandoned in a sugar cane plantation at 15:04.
