Drug addict defies court orders & flee with toddler
TRENANCE PARK – A member of the public assisting the Department of Social Services to locate the child contacted the Operations Centre requesting assistance from RUSA reaction officers. Officers were dispatched to meet the search party. On arrival, it was established that the female snatched the boy from his grandmother’s home. Social Workers, the family and the public searched for the child for two hours but were unsuccessful. At one stage during the search, the female was located without the child. She began verbally abusing those that were assisting and fled during questioning.
Reaction Officers joined the search and the woman was spotted with the child on Arolla Place in Trenance Park. She was heading towards Inanda Road on foot. Officers intercepted the female minutes later. Her family & Social Workers arrived and removed the boy from her custody. It was alleged that she used the time to smoke Heroine and was stopped by the search party on her return to fetch the boy. According to her family, the woman was recently arrested and remanded in prison for seven (7) days for killing 145 of their exotic Koi fish and damaging their property. The family and Social Workers opted not to register a criminal case and offered the female assistance with drug rehabilitation. She declined the offer.
