Suspect arrested after stock and stolen property found

GAUTENG – Information was received from a source regarding stock that was being purchased under false pretences. A lookout of the suspect vehicle a Kia K2700 which was loaded with the stock travelling in the JHB CBD area.The vehicle was spotted by the operational team and the vehicle was observed.The suspect vehicle entered a property in the Kensington area.

The operational team identified themselves to the suspect and permission was asked for the property to be searched.The suspect gave the team permission to search the premises. Stock was identified on the Kia K2700 and the property was then searched.In one room suspected stolen oil, tin fish and alcohol was found. In the second room suspected stolen Toyota parts and various car keys was found.

The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of suspected stolen property.

The owner of the stock loaded on the Kia identified his stock and further identified the oil found in the house as stock that was previously purchased from the same suspect. All stolen property was booked in to SAP13. Vehicle used in commission of crime was booked in at Aeroton Vehicle Pound. Suspect was detained at Cleveland SAPS.
