R200k worth of illicit cigarettes confiscated
PRIMROSE – The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, confiscated two hundred thousand Rands (R200 000) worth of illicit cigarettes, on Rietfontein road in the Primrose area. Following a call from a reliable source about a shop suspected of selling illicit cigarettes, the DEU Officers proceeded to the shop and, upon searching the shop, discovered twenty (20) boxes of illicit cigarettes, with an estimated value of two-hundred thousand Rands (R200 000).
The boxes were confiscated and taken to the Primrose Police station, for safekeeping. The three (3) male suspects between the ages of 23 and 33 years, found in the shop, were arrested and detained at the Primrose police station. Facing charges of dealing in illegal cigarettes, the suspects will appear at the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
