Copper cable thief arrested in Damonsville

DAMONSVILLE – During a routine patrol Protego Security Group reaction officers saw two men loading copper bundles into a Toyota Avanza. The vehicle sped off and reaction officers gave chase. The vehicle was stopped by Damonsville where one suspect was removed from the vehicle and detained. Upon further investigation it was found that the copper bundles had been stolen from a business premises in Brits industrial area. One suspect was arrested and a vehicle used in commission of crime handed over to Brits SAPS.
