Real unicorns have curves…at least our favourites do!!
HARTBEESPOORT – As part of our MCS Eco Campaign we decided to adopt a little rhino baby from The Rhino Orphanage. The Rhino Orphanage is a NPO that rescues and rehabilitates rhino babies that have been orphaned (mostly due to poaching). From our four finalists, Impi came out tops and MCS is now proudly TEAM IMPI!!
Impi is a female white rhino calf that was attacked at 5 weeks of age by a pride of 12 lions. Impi’s courageous mother, Manala, tried to protect her. Impi and her mother were both brought to safety of The Rhino Orphanage. She received intensive medical treatment for her injured right leg and the team of Animotion created and fit a brace to help stabilize her foot initially and then her leg. Unfortunately she needs further treatment and braces for her knee joint.
During the week before Easter, the MCS learners opened their hearts and piggy banks to buy bottles of formula milk for the orphanage and to help fund further medical treatment for Impi. In total R14400 was raised for the Orphanage.
We would like to thank every MCS learner, parent, grandparent, aunty and uncle that contributed. We will keep you posted on her progress.
Go Team Impi!!
