SAWS predicts stormy start to the weekend
GAUTENG – The South African Weather Service has issued an alert for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours in Limpopo, North, West, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and parts of Free State. Forecaster Ishmael Moyo says there is a 60% chance of thundershowers from Friday until Sunday.
“Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Gauteng and North west provinces will be isolated but scatted showers and thundershowers are expected over the eastern parts of North West and Free State and most of the Mpumalanga province, the entire Gauteng and southern parts of the Limpopo province over these areas we are expecting a 60% chance of showers and thundershowers and we also given an alert yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms this is mainly from lunch time going into the evening.”
