Road flooded with sewage water from blocked drain for weeks
BRITS – Since reported of the horrendous pothole situation in February 2022 that is a daily headache for motorists and delivery vehicles in Krokkodildrift lane, Brits Industrial site. No permanent fix has been seen to curb not only the disastrous state of the road but the reoccurring health hazard of raw sewage not only flowing into a nearby stream but actually causing a river of sewage motorists need to battle through on a daily basis.
The blocked storm drain has been non-existed for a more than a year with efforts from the Madibeng Municipality to dig a ditch next to the storm drain to lead water away, is a laughable site for motorists. Questions raised to the relative authorities has come back with no results on a deadline when this hazard will be rectified. The community calls on the Madibeng Municipality to adhere to service delivery promises and make a permanent solution to the months that is turning to years of ongoing struggles motorists in the area face.
