The #NationalShutdown in progress

SOUTH AFRICA – The Economic Freedom Fighters has attempted to shut down the whole of South Africa today. The EFF is calling for an end to load shedding and the resignation of president Cyril Ramaphosa among other demands. Although the EFF has conducted several marches over the last decade, today’s was expected to be different, with the police and military being deployed in the wake of the national shutdown. The EFF’s Julius Malema said that the protest would be peaceful but has called on members to retaliate if provoked.
