All was quiet locally during #NationalShutdown

BRITS – The #NationalShutdown spearheaded by the EFF was intended to halt South Africa to a complete standstill with all businesses closed and people taking to the streets to protest against recently daily loadshedding, crime, gender based violence and the resignation of President Cyril Ramaposha among other demands by protestors.

Nationally in all the cities, the streets were full with protestors in demonstration with heavy South African Police Services and SA National Defence Forces on the ground keeping order.

Locally, it feels like a Sunday afternoon, with no protesting in Brits CBD and the areas surrounding the town. Some stores in town was business like usual while others were closed for today in fear of looting. Streets were quiet with SAPS, traffic police and security companies on patrol throughout the day.
