Madibeng Mayor, Cllr Douglas Maimane launches new fleet of waste trucks and water tankers

BRITS – The Mayor of Madibeng Local Municipality, Cllr Douglas Maimane officially launched a new fleet of nine (9) REL Compactor Waste Trucks and ten (10) Water Tankers for potable water at the ceremony held on Monday, 13 March 2023 in Brits. In addressing the launch ceremony that was attended by Members of the Mayoral Committee, the Acting Municipal Manager, municipal officials, among them, drivers of the new fleet, the Executive Mayor expressed that the purchase of the new fleet is a good step in the right direction for the Municipality in efforts to save costs.

“We have done the right thing by purchasing this fleet of vehicles as we will now be able save the much needed money and render services to our people with the necessary efficiency. The Auditor-General indicated some ten years ago that we lost more money with contracted services, so having our fleet will definitely save us money” said Mayor Maimane. The Executive further appealed to the drivers to take good care of the vehicles and to always think about the communities that are in need of municipal services.
