Lack of maintenance leads to overflowing during rain

BRITS – Since reported of the massive potholes and blocked storm water pipe in Krokkodildrif Lane by the Independent Co Newspaper since March 2022, the potholes have grown in size and the lack of maintenance by the Madibeng Municipality has caused this patch of road to turn into a river during rain downpours.

After the rain we received today, it was a struggle for motorists to traverse this road in Brits Industrial area leaving many delivery vehicles and motorists to find alternative routes. The ditch the Madibeng Municipality dug in April 2022 to lead the storm water away, right next to the blocked storm drain had little to no effect on the river the water formed in the road.
