Vehicle plunged into dam near road in Sanddrift area

BRITS – HEMS responded to a single vehicle accident on the R511, Sanddrift area this morning. The driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to rollover the vehicle then plunged into a dam near the road.

Luckily the occupant of the vehicle managed to escape the submerged vehicle, he was able to reach the road were a passing vehicle stopped to assist him. On HEMS arrival at scene one patient was found with moderate injuries. The patient was transported to a hospital in Brits for further treatment.
