Venue owners risk having sound equipment confiscated

HARTBEESPOORTDAM – Over the last few weekends I have received a barrage of complaints from Hartbeespoort residents about deafening music being played throughout the night. After some investigation it was discovered that the source emanated from various venues and shebeens on Rietfontein plots, Syferfontein, Broederstroom shoreline and party boats.

This type of situation is totally unacceptable and the matter was discussed with Police management whom committed to visit the venues and issue warnings initially. We cannot allow a handful of inconsiderate venue owners to hold all the residents to ransome. In certain families babies are unable to sleep, students cannot study and families cannot even hear their TV’s.

We urge venue owners to maintain acceptable levels of volume and to stop music at an acceptable time. Those whom persist with loud music will face the full might of the law and even risk having sound equipment confiscated in addition to further steps. – Hartbeespoortdam CPF
