Nationwide shutdown and how it effects you
SOUTH AFRICA – Incase you missed it, SAFTU, COSATU and other major trade unions are expected to down tools this coming Wednesday 24 August 2022. The protest action is seen as a response to the rising cost of living, high unemployment rate as well as rolling blackouts which has continued to see a sharp increase over the preceding months. Protests are expected to take place from the following locations in cities across the country with Protesters beginning to gather between 06h00 and 09h00 at rally points and expected to kick off from 10h00.
- Limpopo Province – (Polokwane SABC Park)
- Mpumalanga Province – (Witbank Broadway)
- Gauteng Province – Pretoria (Burgers park)
- Free State Province – (Bloemfontein Batho Hall)
- Eastern Cape Province – (Bisho Forth Hare)

(NB) If you’re not taking part in the protest action remember to anticipate distribution to public transport, barricading of major roads as well as potential damage to property along strike routes.
