Pick’n’Pay workers face retrenchment due to illegal strike

GAUTENG – Pick’n’Pay employees are now facing retrenchment for engaging in an illegal wages strike earlier today. Reports confirms that the employer recently told them that they must only return to the warehouse to pack everything that belongs to them then leave. Workers at Longmeadow Pick’n’Pay near Alexandra embarked on a illegal strike this morning after they were told yesterday that they will get a salary increase of 6%. This morning, workers were met with rubber bullets and bouncers who allegedly beat them during the illegal strike.
