BREAKING NEWS: Shocking state of Brits Sports Field clubhouse
BRITS – Primindia Development Association has been leasing the Brits Sport Field for soccer practices and tournaments since 2018 from the Madibeng Municipality. When they first started with the lease there was assistance from the Madibeng Municipality to paint the facility including the field. Security at the premises was more alert for every time the Primindia Development Association used the facility they had to arrange to get the keys or security to open the restrooms and the change rooms were usable and in working condition as it used to remain locked and secured.
However, over the years the Municipality has neglected responsibilities by not taking the same security and maintenance measurements which have resulted in the facilities deterioration. The Primindia Development Association have invested in lights and painting the field for their own use.
“It’s really shocking if the Municipality expects our children to compete against other teams from Pretoria, Johannesburg, Middleburg, Ermelo, Rustenburg and Standerton to name a few, in these appalling conditions were there is no restrooms usable for the public and players to change clothes and prepare before and after a match.” A concerned parent told The Independent Co.
Due to the neglect and lack of security, drug addicts has run rampant in the building, causing massive amounts of damages to the infrastructure. Broken toilets and basins lie across the floor with human feces and body fluids against the walls and scattered across the rooms. It was a shocking discovery by The Independent Co Newspaper to find so many drug needles, the smell of raw human waste and neglect to the building that the Madibeng Municipality turns a blind eye to.
