Exposed drain covers a big concern in Primindia
BRITS – Residents of Primindia has voiced their concerns over two exposed drain covers at the park in Hajje street. Overflowing sewage is seen running into two exposed storm drains leading to the Crocodile River. There was reports of a woman also stumbling and falling into one of the open storm drains earlier this month. Complaints voiced to the Madibeng Municipality have been left actionless.
In recent media reports there was a six (6) year old boy, Khayalethu Magadla, who’s body was recovered after twenty days inside a splitter chamber in one of the sewer drain pipes after he fallen into an open sewer manhole in Eldorado Park Cemetery.
Residents in the area fear that without any urgent intervention from the Municipality the children playing in the park will soon become a tragedy when a child falls and disappears inside the storm drain.
