Madibeng left in the dark

BRITS – The Madibeng Municipality did urgent repairs and upgrades to the old light poles in Madibeng. They were fitted with new energy saver LED heads but due to a technical issue, the light poles are leaving Madibeng in the dark at night.

Some areas like Carel De Wet street are lit at night. Problems arise where the light poles are shining during the day and by night for example Ludorf street, the light poles are not working at all.

The only lights that can be seen is that of businesses in the area. Residents and business owners have also blamed the lack of working light poles in Madibeng. It is much easier for criminals to operate at night in these conditions, and the citizens do not feel save.
