City Power removes illegal connection cables worth R10 million

GAUTENG – City of Johannesburg power utility conducted an operation to cut off illegal connections in Kyasands informal settlement. The area is one of the hotspots of illegal connections which have seen the business and residential customers struggling with daily outages.

One Residents who responded with anger said City Power is just wasting time for removing the illegal power connections because within the next 24hours the electricity will be connected back again.
